Student Life

Student Life At Maranatha Baptist Academy

Keeping in mind that the goal of MBA is to partner with parents in developing their students spiritually, mentally, and physically, MBA provides many opportunities for personal enrichment through a variety of student activities. Each athletic event begins with prayer, and most tournaments in which we participate have a preaching service for the players.

Fine arts events including the Christmas concert, spring concert, and spring play are held on Wednesday evenings. The music and story lines of the plays are purposefully chosen to challenge our students and their families in their Christian walk, and the student portion of the service is always followed with a time of challenging preaching.

MBA hosts an annual Student Leadership Conference each year to expose our students and students from surrounding Christian schools to valuable teaching on the Biblical model of leadership. The academy also participates in the MAACS annual Fine Arts Competition which provides a great time for students to be challenged academically and spiritually through interaction and competition with other godly students.
The school’s athletic program is also a valuable tool to help reinforce the goal of the developing Christlikeness in the lives of our students. Each practice begins with a devotion and prayer and ends with prayer. Because of the small number of schools in the area, teams do occasionally travel long distances, which does provide opportunities for students to minister, usually through music, in churches along the way.

MBA hosts an annual awards ceremony on the final day of school each year. Parents and families members are strongly encouraged to attend the ceremony, as we recognize students in the K5-12th grades for their achievements in academics and athletics over the past year. Graduating seniors are eligible for the Myron Webber Award, an award recognizing outstanding leadership in the areas of servant leadership and academic excellence.
